And there it ended.

After a mighty race to the busyness, it was time. As Erika lunged against that solacing shoulder, she felt a certain suspension. Kind of like in the movies, you know; everything around you isn't like you, immobile.

It had taken a few adjustments, that's for sure. It had taken a deeper understanding of separation. It had taken a resolution to permanently alter the inner being. It had taken a severe disposal of ocular liquid. Yeah, she'd cried like a baby.

As she vanished in the crowd, Erika knew.
From now on, nothing would ever be the same again.


And it wasn't.
